Traditional Molds

This mold was copied from the Maureen Love sculpture, Zilla, produced by Hagen-Renaker. It does not have a Copyright Stamp but some models have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold.

This mold was copied from a Maureen Love sculpture, produced by Hagen-Renaker. Breyer used that mold until 1960, but then had to stop production until negotiations with Hagen-Renaker were completed. In 1971, Chris Hess slightly reworked this mold and Breyer was able to re-release it. Changes include the left legs being slightly moved (splayed) out, and the addition of the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright and USA Stamps, and later, some models had a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold (still researching which models). In 2022, a Little Bit size Crystal model was released.

The halter is part of the mold. Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, around 1970 the USA Stamp was added, and some models have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold. Around 2011, the USA Stamp was removed.

Very early models have just the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, and then around 1970-1971 the USA Stamp was added, and some models have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold (still researching which models). Around 2008, the USA stamp was disappearing from the mold.

This mold is thought to have been inspired by the Whirlaway sculpture from the Grand Wood Carving company. Halter is part of the mold and originally had no Copyright Stamp. Starting in 1997, the Phantom release had the round Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp.

Has a 'TM & Copyright 2002 Dreamworks L.L.C.' Stamp along with a round Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp on the inner back right leg, and an official mark of Spirit logo on the inner back left leg.

This mold was originally available in the Gallery Series as Refrigerator & Kip Didericksen, sculpted by Marrita McMillian in 1999.

This mold was originally available in the Gallery Series as Elvis and Rising Sun, sculpted by Kristina Lucas Francis in 2010. In 2020, it was made into a Mini Whinnie (see separate record).

Originally sculpted as a portrait of the Champion Dutch Warmblood Stallion, and has the Westphalian brand (W inside a diamond shape) on the left hip. The brand was removed from the mold beginning with the 1998 release of Graf George. He also has the linear Copyright Breyer Reeves Stamp.

Originally sculpted as a portrait of Whizards Baby Doll 'Roxy', and sculpted as a Mare, but a Stallion modification began in 2021. This mold originally had a long flowing mane and tail, but has also been modified with a braided mane and tail, a short straight mane, or a fuller, long straight tail. Has the round Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp.

Originally sculpted as a portrait of the Famous Thoroughbred Filly as a Mare, and comes with a detachable base. Also starting in 2006, a Gelding modification began, and starting in 2015, a Stallion version was available. Has the round Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp.

Originally sculpted as a portrait of the Famous Quarter Horse Stallion. Early releases of #450 did not have a Copyright Stamp, then the linear Copyright Breyer Reeves Stamp was added. The re-release of #450 in 1997 had an added '97' stamp inside the right hind leg.

Some early models had the right hind hoof slightly pared down to help with stability. Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, around 1970 the USA Stamp was added, and some models have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold. Starting with the 2009 Fun Foals Collector Event, the mold stamp changed to the round Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp.

Around 1982-1983 this mold had a 'flattened' right eye problem. From around 1983-1993, the eye was altered, but still very flawed (overly round), and then in 1994 the eye was fixed again to what it is today. Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, around 1970 the USA Stamp was added, and some models have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold. Starting with the 2009 Fun Foals Collector Event, the mold stamp changed to the round Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp.

Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, around 1970 the USA Stamp was added, and some models have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold. Around 2003 the USA stamp was removed. This mold was modified for the #210 Unicorn release; the horn is a separate piece that is glued to the head, and the beard was added to the metal injection mold so that it could be altered for future runs of both regular horses or unicorns.

This mold originally had the tail attached to the body. For the Rocking Horse releases in 1985, the mold was retooled with the tail removed and pegs added to the legs to fit into the rockers. Starting with the 1990 releases, a new, almost identical, tail was added back to the mold, but it was no longer attached to the body. Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp along with the USA Stamp.

Originally sculpted as a portrait of the Famous Thoroughbred Racehorse. Has the linear Copyright Breyer Reeves Stamp. This mold originally had a very flat area on the head between the eyes, and a partial forelock that flowed down toward the right. Shortly after the initial release, the mold was retooled to add a more rounded area on the face, and eliminated the right side of the forelock. The new changes are evident on the 1990 releases.

Originally released in the Premier Club as a Mare, but a Gelding modification began in 2018. Has the round Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp. This mold has been modified as a Unicorn with a glued on horn.

Based on the character from the Marguerite Henry book. Originally released with a 'wheat ear' mark on the chest; however it was removed sometime during the original Sham run. Not all Sham models have it; however there are known #411 models with the wheat ear. Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp. This mold has also been modified as a unicorn with a glued on horn.

Originally released in 1987 and has the linear Copyright Breyer Reeves Stamp. The mold was officially retired after the 1992 Pride and Vanity limited edition due to problems with the injection mold. Starting in 2000, the mold was retooled with a different tail. In 2019, a Mini Whinnies version was released (see separate record) and in 2021 a Little Bit size Crystal model was released.

Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp on belly, and around 1970, the USA Stamp was added. Early releases also had a 'CHESS' (Chris Hess) Stamp. Some #24 models also have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold. Still researching if the #1120 or #1427 was the release when the USA stamp was removed.

New mold for the 2026 Premier Club.

Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp along with the USA Stamp and a C.HESS '71 Stamp. Some #96 models also have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold. Mold was made in 1971, but first released in 1972. By 2012, the USA Stamp was removed.

Originally released in the Premier Club as Shannondell. The mold can be modified with mane bobs and braided tail, or a loose mane and tail. Has the round Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp.

This mold was originally available in the Gallery Series as the Porcelain Shire Horse, sculpted by Kathleen Moody in 1993. It has an engraved linear Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp on the inner back right leg and a '93' engraved on the inside back left leg. In 2019 a Little Bit size Crystal model was released.

Inspired by the Selle Francais Stallion Baloubet du Rouet. Has the round Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp. This mold can be modified with a braided mane and shorter tail, or a free flowing long mane and tail.

This model was sculpted by Brigitte Eberl, and first released in the Premier Club in 2022. Has the round Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp.

This mold was originally available in the Gallery Series as the Si-Ce-Ca Son'ge - Family Horse, sculpted by Kathleen Moody in 1998.

Originally released in 2001 and based on the character from the TV show 'The Lone Ranger'. Has the round Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp. This mold has been modified as a Pegasus using the classic size Pegasus model's detachable wings. In 2013, a Little Bit size Crystal model was released.

This mold was originally available in the Gallery Series for the JC Penney Holiday Catalog, sculpted by Kitty Cantrell in 2000.

Based on the character from the Will James book and has the Rocking R Ranch brand on the left front shoulder. Starting with the 2002 release of Nevada Joe Sterling, the brand was removed from the mold. Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, and some #69 models have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold. This mold has also been modified as a Unicorn with a glued on horn.

This model first appeared in 2013 for BreyerFest. Unknown who sculpted it.
