"In 1852, Henry Wells and William Fargo joined together to provide express mail and banking services to the booming population in California who moved out west in response to the discovery of gold. Their iconic stagecoaches transported mail, goods, and people across the country for decades and the history of their incredible teams of driving horses was highlighted in the brand’s logo for more than 150 years. These teams of horses included lighter breeds, like Morgans, for longer hauls over easy terrain, and draft horses, like Shires, for heavier loads, bad weather, and rougher journeys.
