Bay with four socks, black hooves, no black on the legs, bald face, and some had slight pinking on the nose. Early models had eye whites (most eye whites had ended by 1969). A few glossy models known to exist, but these are very uncommon. Hoof pads were added until around 1971-1973. Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, the USA Stamp was added around 1970, and some models have a B Stamp which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold.
From 1963-1968, this model was called 'King - The Fighting Stallion' and after that was just referred to as 'Fighting Stallion'.
In 1993, a re-release of this model was issued as #700993 (see separate record). These models look indistinguishable from the original run.
Side note: Not sure if the 1980's White Border Box (1982-1985) was ever used for this model. I had opened a new box with the 1980's Yellow Border (1979-1981) and it had a 1985 catalog in it (see photo). If you have one of these White Border boxes for this model, please contact me.
