Black Forest

"The name for this decadent German dessert might have been inspired by the Bollenhut, a traditional peasant hat worn by women in the Black Forest region and topped with giant red pompons, a nod to the cherries on the cake. It also might have been inspired by the special dark cherry spirit produced in the Black Forest region, which is an ingredient in the recipe and gives the dark chocolate cake its cherry flavor. Our Black Forest has been done on the Freedom Series (1:12) scale Shire, mold #627A, sculpted by Kathleen Moody and looks like he’s coated with shiny dark chocolate, fluffy whipped cream, and topped with tart cherries in his mane and tail, reminiscent of a delicious slice of Black Forest cake. This tasty Limited Edition model will be available for all ticket holders to BreyerFest." www.breyerhorses.com.
