#P45 White Prancer with Canadian Mountie (see record #P45 for model details). This set included a Canadian Mountie with removable hat, saddle and blanket. The saddle was a brown hard plastic English saddle with removable blue with yellow border saddle blanket. This set was advertised in the 1958-59 catalog.
There were two variations to the Canadian Mountie. One, termed 'Howdy Doody' by collectors, has more of a comical face, is slightly smaller, and has no molded hair details. The other, termed 'Handsome' by collectors, has more of a normal face with forehead wrinkles and molded on hair texture. Paint jobs varied, but typically, they would have dark brown or black hair, blue eyes with eye whites, grey or brown gloves, red jacket, blue or black pants with a yellow stripe, and a removable grey or brown hat that came with a fabric black and silver hatband. The Canadian Mountie was only released on the Black/Brown and White Prancers. Sculpted by Chris Hess.
Model, Mounties and saddle have no mold marks or Copyright Stamps.
