Sir Barton won the Triple Crown in 1919, and was the 1st horse in history to win it. This was the 2nd model released in Breyer's Triple Crown Ornament Series. Sculpted by Donna Chaney and Jane Lunger. On the 2004 Retired List.
Originally this was going to be a series of 11 models; however, Omaha, Whirlaway, Count Fleet and Assault were never produced. Since then, 2 additional horses have won the Triple Crown: American Pharoah in 2015 and Justify in 2018. Currently, there are 9 models in this series, and perhaps someday Breyer will release the others.
