Secretariat won the Triple Crown in 1973, and was the 9th horse in history to win it. This was the 3rd model released in Breyer's Triple Crown Ornament Series. Sculpted by Donna Chaney. #10104 was released in 2004 and came in a yellow or red box, #700135 was released in 2005 in a red box, and in 2006, the number changed to 700136.
Originally this was going to be a series of 11 models; however, Omaha, Whirlaway, Count Fleet and Assault were never produced. Since then, 2 additional horses have won the Triple Crown: American Pharoah in 2015 and Justify in 2018. Currently, there are 9 models in this series, and perhaps someday Breyer will release the others.
