SM Draft Horse: Chestnut

Chestnut varied from light tan to a dark orange color. Face could be solid or bald, mane and tail colors could be body color or a lighter flaxen color. Socks varied from all four to none. Back right hind leg has the most prominent sock. There is a rare variation with a black mane and tail referred to as the Bay variation. These models were made from the heavier Cellulose Acetate plastic.

Originally sculpted by Maureen Love for Hagen-Renaker. Models are stamped with Copyright Breyer Molding Co 1976, even though this model appears on a 1975 price list. Released later in 1975, so not shown in the box catalog.

Notice the white Stablemate card shows Reeves Intl in New Jersey on the front, and Breyer Molding Co in Chicago on the back. Even though Reeves purchased Breyer in 1984, packaging remained like this through 1989.
