Dapple grey with gold bobs and tail ribbon, 4 socks with grey hooves, and a bald face with pinking on nose and in the ears. In 1961, this model was released in a glossy finish with no muscles, and around 1962 the model was re-tooled to include muscles. The muscle version pertains to the amount of muscle details the model has; whereas the no muscle version shows a very smooth surface to the model.
Both variations have the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp. This model does not have the USA Stamp. The special run from 1979 included models that were indistinguishable from this run, except for the added USA Stamp (see separate #82 record).
