Masquerade - First Draft aka Picasso I

"Masquerade, a model featuring a unique decorator pattern with an abstract stampede of horses, was quite the hit when he was introduced as the fifth model of the Connoisseur Series back in 2001. Created on Breyer's Missouri Fox Trotter mold, sculpted by Kathleen Moody, his fantastical coat was designed by her as well. In the Breyer Archives, we are lucky to "stable" Kathleen's first draft of her concept for Masquerade. Created on Chris Hess' Pacer mold from the 1960s and hand painted in acrylics, this model is an interesting look into how original concepts are changed and modified to best fit the Breyer production process. He's a unique piece of history that we're happy to have around." www.breyerhorses.com. Hand painted by Kathleen Moody, she named him Picasso I, and painted him in May, 2001.
