Perhaps most captivating of all Sylvia’s horses is the leader of her Grande Liberté performances, Rico. A striking grey Arabian/Andalusian stallion, he’s best known for performing many of the rearing elements seen in the Grande Liberté. Born in 1999, his path connected with Sylvia’s when he was only three. She’d been warned that he was very strong minded and tended to rear, but for Sylvia it was love at first sight. She loaded him in her trailer, and Rico was performing with her and her team of horses in three months. While he may have displayed some wild behavior in his past, today he loves to perform and his kind personality shines when he interacts with kids.
