Black Poodles were released with black, blue or green eyes (ongoing research for red eyes). Collars were black, blue (faded to grey), or red (faded to pink). Models had red (or faded to pink) colored tongues. Some models were made with black plastic.
In 1957, The French Poodle and Perfume Set was sold through Spiegel and the Saucy French Poodles were sold through Montgomery Ward. Each Poodle was wearing a red or dark blue felt snap-on blanket that contained bottles of perfume.
Released in 1957 through Sears as the French Poodle Sewing Kit. Blanket held 12 assorted cotton threads, thimble, buttons, needle and pins. Original price $2.84.
This model was copied from a Rosenthal china poodle. Early models had no mold stamps, then the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp was added around 1960. The ears are separately molded pieces.
