This sulky set was originally a special run through Aldens Holiday Catalog, until they declared bankruptcy in 1982. The remaining models, without the sulky and harness, were sold through Bentley Sales and Horses International as #46B. Estimated around 700-750 made. The sulky and harness were the regular run set #2446, but also included was a "fuzzy blue shadow roll across the horse's nose, a small white blanket with a black #5 across the horse's back, and a tiny 'head number', a little card printed with the number 5, which attaches to the bridle's crown piece and stands up between the horses's ears." Per Nancy Young's 5th Edition of "Breyer Horses, Riders, & Animals Molds & Models". An estimated 60 of these head numbers were sold by Bentley. Unknown how many full sets were released by Aldens.
