Family Arabian Stallion: Bay - Glossy aka Sheik

Bay with a star and stripe, black or charcoal mane and tail but no black on legs, and four stockings with black hooves. Variations of the bay color are light to dark, and some have reddish tones. An uncommon variation is a bald face or just a stripe (similar to the mare). The name 'Sheik' was dropped by the 1969 catalog. Models were advertised in a matte finish in the later 1968 catalog. Most glossy models had eye whites (most eye whites had ended by 1969), and some early glossy models had dark grey lip lines. Need to verify if both blue ribbon stickers were seen on both finishes. See separate record for the matte and chalky variations.

Models originally had no mold copyright stamp, then around 1960 a partial round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp could be seen. The full round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp appeared around 1960-1961.

From 1958-1959, set #16 included the Bay Family Arabian Stallion, Bay Proud Arabian Mare and Bay Proud Arabian Foal, and in 1960-1964 that set included the Family Arabians. From 1958-1959, set #17 included a Bay Proud Arabian Mare and Bay Family Arabian Stallion, and from 1960-1962 that set included the Bay Family Arabian Mare.

From 1968-1970, the Touch-ability boxes #13SP were used, and from 1970-1972 the Showcase Collection boxes #0130 were used.
