Bay with a star and stripe, black or charcoal mane and tail but no black on legs, and four stockings with black hooves. Variations of the bay color are light to dark, and some have reddish tones. The name 'Sheik' was dropped by the 1969 catalog. Models were advertised in a matte finish in the later 1968 catalog. Need to verify if both blue ribbon stickers were seen on both finishes. See separate record for the glossy and chalky variations.
These matte models have the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, and the USA Stamp was added around 1970.
From 1968-1970, the Touch-ability boxes #13SP were used, and from 1970-1972 the Showcase Collection boxes #0130 were used.
