This model was released in the Series 1 #3970 Grand Prix Playset. Set included three jumps, 3 horses, 2 riders, trophy, ribbons, feed bags and hay bales.
This set was considered a Special Run or Collector's Edition, and produced by Creata International for Specialty Market stores (smaller retail stores). Per Artist Candace Liddy, the packaging was completed in 1996, however the models were not available until 1997. Breyer bought this mold and accessories in 2004.
