Lying Down Foal: Appaloosa

Black Blanket Appaloosa with pink nose and ears, bald face, and grey or black hooves. The white areas on face can be very wide to narrow, like an unstenciled blaze. There are three main variations with the white blanket: The white can wrap around the whole area, including under the tail; the area under the tail can be all black; and, the white area can be interrupted with a black stripe directly under the tail. The black splatter spots can vary in size and quantity. It is very common on this mold to have little tiny bumps on the surface.

In 1973 and 1975, this model was available through JC Penney (#920-2698) with the matching Running Stallion.

Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, and around 1970, the USA Stamp was added and some models have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold.
