Chestnut color can range from a light reddish dun to a medium chestnut. The mane and tail are slightly darker than the body. Dark variations of this model can be easily confused with the light bay color. One early variation is socks on the back legs. Included the Thoroughbred Standing and Lying Foals. Models are stamped with Copyright Breyer Molding Co 1975; however, early releases did not have a stamp. These models were made from the heavier Cellulose Acetate plastic.
