Proud Arabian Mare: Alabaster - Glossy aka Pride

Glossy Alabaster with grey mane and tail, grey hooves, and grey muzzle. Body shading varied from light dark. Some models have a dark lip line on the muzzle. An uncommon variation is pink on the nose and ears. This mold was not called 'Proud Arabian Mare' until 1971.

This mold was copied from a Maureen Love sculpture, produced by Hagen-Renaker. Breyer used that mold until 1960, but then had to stop production until negotiations with Hagen-Renaker were completed. In 1971, Chris Hess slightly reworked this mold and Breyer was able to re-release it. Changes included the left legs being slightly moved (splayed) out. As a result, this original version is often referred to as the 'Old Mold PAM'.

Set #10 included the Alabaster Proud Arabian Mare and Alabaster Proud Arabian Foal; Set #11 included the Alabaster Family Arabian Stallion, Alabaster Proud Arabian Mare and Alabaster Proud Arabian Foal; and, Set #12 included the Alabaster Family Arabian Stallion and Alabaster Proud Arabian Mare. These set numbers later included the Family Arabians.
