Test Rocking Horse with black rocker and gold sparkles which was never produced. This model is from the Marney Walerius collection. Purchased in 2017 from the Pennock family, who were entrusted the remainder of model horses from Marney's estate, following the estate sale and Marney's family keeping any for themselves. It is not clear what the origin story of this model is - whether it was part of a pitch from Marney to Breyer as a potential rocking horse color, a design Breyer had created and pitched but then gave to Marney after it didn't pan out, something she painted on a whim at the factory, or something else! She is rough, unfinished, with no tail, as the flocked models all started out. There is another unfinished/bare plastic rocking horse out there, but it has a yellow rocker, which was actually produced.
Estimated production 1985 to coincide with the other rocker releases. This model has the round Breyer Copyright Stamp along with the USA Stamp.
