Quarter Horse Yearling: Palomino

Palomino with same color or a bit lighter mane and tail, 4 socks with grey hooves, and a blaze. Palomino color varies from a light yellow to a dark tan chestnut color. Uncommon variation is a bald face. Per Nancy Young's 5th Edition of "Breyer Horses, Riders, & Animals Molds & Models", there were four main blaze variations as seen in catalogs on models #101, #102 and #103: A long irregular blaze that runs over the nose; short irregular blaze that ends in a point over the right nostril; and, a keyhole or diamond shaped star that runs straight down between the nostrils.

Model was released in 1971-1972 in the Showcase Collection boxes as #1020, and in 1971-1973 as part of the Presentation Collection on a wooden base as #5102.

In 1980, this model was released through Montgomery Ward with or without a bareback pad.

Very early models have just the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, and then around 1970-1971, the USA Stamp was added. Still researching if this model had a B Stamp.
