Buckskin with black mane and tail, black/buckskin shading on legs, black hooves, and bald face. Matte finish. Very similar to the 1962 model, but these would have the USA Stamp.
In 1983, this set was advertised through JC Penney and shows a Buckskin Lady Phase and a Buckskin Running Foal. The special run actually consisted of a Lady Phase and Stock Horse Foal; however the models were mixed up when the promotional photo was taken. Breyer had decided to use the Stock Horse Foal instead of the Running Foal. Since the Running Foal was 'advertised' collectors asked Breyer to send them the Running Foal. It is estimated that Breyer made 32 of the Buckskin Running Foal, and 24 of them were sold through Bentley Sales.
