#P43 Palomino Prancer with Davy Crockett on Lamp (see record #P43 for model details). This palomino with Davy Crockett was not advertised in any known literature; however, it appears to be the same lamp set with the black Prancer that was released in the 1955 Montgomery Ward catalog. The lamp was possibly a collaboration with Dunning Industries. Assigned #P543 based on the 500 series of Davy Crockett and Kit Carson sets and the regular Palomino Prancer #P43.
Davy Crockett was commonly molded with a medium brown plastic with his outfit the same color, however some models are a molded white plastic with painted clothes. The face is usually unpainted and he has dark brown hair. He came with a dark brown plastic Cavalry style saddle with molded on saddle blanket and bedroll with pull-through cinch, a plastic removable coonskin hat, a rifle and a knife. Kit Carson is the same mold, sculpted by Chris Hess. Horse, Davy, Kit and saddle have no mold marks or Copyright stamps.
