Family Arabian Foal: Charcoal aka Doc

Charcoal color with white mane and tail, bald face with pink ears and nose, and four stockings with pink hooves. In 1961, this mold had a round Breyer Stamp (early versions had a backward C) on inner right hind leg. Not sure if this foal had the partial 'Hess' engraved stamps also on the inside right leg. Around 1961-1962, Hess was removed and the C was now facing down. Around 1970 the USA Stamp was added, but removed around 1972, and the C was now facing upward (not sure if the USA Stamp was added to this foal). The name 'Doc' was dropped by the 1969 catalog. Models were advertised in a matte finish in the later 1968 catalog; however, these Charcoal models appeared in glossy finish again in the early 1970's. Both sizes of the blue ribbon stickers were used.

In 1961, this mold had rounded, inward curving ears; 1962-1969 the ears were more pointy with the right ear being very wide; 1971-1973 the ears were pointy and the right ear is thinner. Research ongoing if this foal had the 1961 ears.

From 1961-1964, set #223 included the Family Arabian Mare and Family Arabian Foal, and set #213 included the Family Arabian Stallion, Family Arabian Mare and Family Arabian Foal. From 1968-1970, the touch-ability boxes #203SP were used.
