Family Arabian Foal: Bay Glossy aka Shah

Bay with long stripe to the nose, black mane and tail but no black on the legs, and four stockings. The bay color can vary from light shades of brown, have reddish tones, or be a dark chocolate brown. The name 'Shah' was dropped by the 1969 catalog. Models were advertised in a matte finish in the later 1968 catalog. The small Blue ribbon stickers were on the glossy bay FAFs. See separate record for the Matte variation.

Early 1960, this mold had a round Breyer Stamp (missing the C) on the belly, along with a partial 'Hess' engraved on the inside right leg. Late 1960-1961, the stamp moved to the right hind leg and early versions had a backward C. Around 1961-1962, Hess was removed and the C was now facing down. Around 1970 the USA Stamp was added, but removed around 1972, and the C was now facing upward (unsure if the USA Stamp was added to this foal).

In 1960-1961, this mold had rounded, inward curving ears; 1962-1969 the ears were more pointy with the right ear being very wide; 1971-1973 the ears were pointy and the right ear is thinner.

From 1960-1964, set #16 included the Family Arabian Stallion, Family Arabian Mare and either the Family Arabian Foal or the Proud Arabian Foal, and set #18 included just the Family Arabian Mare and Family Arabian Foal.

From 1968-1970, the touch-ability boxes #15SP were used.
