This model was released in the Series 2 Morgan Set #39601, Winners Choice Micro Horses by Creata International in 1997. Also in 1997, this model was released in the Series 2 set #39701 Grand Prix II Playset. Set included 3 jumps and a rider. Both of these sets were produced for Mass Market stores (larger retail stores like Target).
In 2001, this set as #2333, was rebranded by the Nylint Corporation. The models were the exact same, including the copyright stamp, but packaged with a rider figure.
Breyer bought this mold and accessories in 2004.
