Prancer: Black or Dark Brown - Davy Crockett

Estimated made 1955-1956; but was only pictured in the 1955 Sears catalog with an original price of $3.69.

Same model as #P40, but molded from dark brown plastic (typically not the black for this set) and had a glossy appearance. The four socks were usually painted on and could have black or grey hooves. The face usually has a stenciled blaze that is rounded at the bottom, just on top of the nose. The mane and tail were the same color as the body. The breast collar and bridle were usually gold with brass chain reins.

Davy Crockett was commonly molded with a medium brown plastic with his outfit the same color, however some models are a molded white plastic with painted clothes. The face is usually unpainted and he has dark brown hair. He came with a dark brown plastic Cavalry style saddle with molded on saddle blanket and bedroll with pull-through cinch, a plastic removable coonskin hat, a rifle and a knife. Kit Carson is the same mold, sculpted by Chris Hess. Horse, Davy, Kit and saddle have no mold marks or Copyright stamps.

Pictured is an aftermarket MasterCrafters clock.
