The bay can range from very dark or plum colored (like in the #3085 set), or more of a sandy or baby bay color. Mane and tail are charcoal or black, some models have 2 back socks, and a solid face. Lighter variations of this model can be easily confused with the chestnut version. Came in a set with matching bay Standing Foal. Released as a single model #5700 1975-1976. These models were made from the heavier Cellulose Acetate plastic.
In 1976-1980, this model was released in the Stablemates and Stable Set #3085 and included a cardboard stable, the Quarter Horse Mare, the Quarter Horse Stallion or Seabiscuit and the Thoroughbred Standing and Lying Foals. Seabiscuit had replaced the QH Stallion around 1979. In 1976, the stable was available without models as #7200.
