In 1983, this set was available through JC Penney. Also in 1983, this model was available through Montgomery Ward in The Little Bits set #62682. The set included a Grey Arabian, Bay Morgan, Black Thoroughbred and Palomino Quarter Horse. Also included was a Bitsy Breyer doll with red and white jockey silks and plastic racing tack. The Chestnut Arabian was pictured in the catalog, not confirmed if the Chestnut or Grey Arabian was actually used.
In 1986, it was pictured in the 1986 JC Penney catalog, that the Chestnut, Black and Bay Thoroughbreds were available in a set #671-2483. However, the description mentions the set includes an Arabian Stallion, Palomino, and Bay Thoroughbred. Ongoing research to find photos of the actual set.
