Running Foal: Bay/Chestnut aka Spice

Bay with black mane and tail, no black on legs, 4 stockings with black hooves and bald face with pink nose and ears. Early models had eye whites (most eye whites had ended by 1969). Bay color varied through the years, and from 1963-1975, this model color was advertised as chestnut. From 1963-1968, this mold was called 'Spice', then starting in 1969, was just called 'Running Foal'.

In 1970-1972, this model was released in the Showcase Collection box as #1340. In the late 1970s, model was released in the Blister Display boxes as #1134.

In 1973 and 1975, this model was available through JC Penney with the matching Running Mare.

Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, around 1970 the USA Stamp was added, and some models have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold. Some early models had the right hind hoof slightly pared down to help with stability.
