Man O' War

Originally sculpted as a portrait of the Famous Racehorse. Chestnut with darker mane and tail, and black molded on halter. Early models had eye whites (most eye whites had ended by 1969), and some had 'battleship' grey hooves.

In 1971-1973, this model was available on the Presentation Collection wooden base with brass nameplate as #5047. In 1970-1972, model was available in the Showcase Collection box as #470.

In 1985, 'Man-o-War with Jockey and Tack' was released through JC Penney as #671-2343. The set came with Jockey, silks and leather racing tack. In 1986, just the single model was released through Sears as #49N21063.

Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, and around 1970, the USA Stamp was added, and some models have a B Stamp, which signifies a different plastic blend was used for the mold.
