Based on the character from the Marguerite Henry book. Has the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp, and some Sea Star models have the B Stamp. There are variations to the shape and size of the star. The Copyright date on the box is 1978, so this model may have been intended to be released earlier.

In 1980, this model was released through JC Penney as Misty's Family #2169 or #926-3039. The set included Misty, Stormy, Sea Star, and the paperback book "Misty" by Marguerite Henry.
From 1983-1985, set #2169 Marguerite Henry's Misty, Stormy and Sea Star Set was available without the book.
